The most unwanted song
This is one of the funniest things I've heard in a while. If you like bagpipe jams and tuba solos this is for you! Read this http://www.artsjournal.com/quickstudy/2008/04/yo_yo.html then listen to the song (link is embedded). Maybe this will whet your appetite: "The most unwanted music is over 25 minutes long, veers wildly between loud and quiet sections, between fast and slow tempos, and features timbres of extremely high and low pitch, with each dichotomy presented in abrupt transition. The most unwanted orchestra was determined to be large, and features the accordion and bagpipe (which tie at 13% as the most unwanted instrument), banjo, flute, tuba, harp, organ, synthesizer (the only instrument that appears in both the most wanted and most unwanted ensembles). An operatic soprano raps and sings atonal music, advertising jingles, political slogans, and "elevator" music, and a children's choir sings jingles and holiday songs. The most unwanted subjects for lyrics are cowboys and holidays, and the most unwanted listening circumstances are involuntary exposure to commercials and elevator music. Therefore, it can be shown that if there is no covariance—someone who dislikes bagpipes is as likely to hate elevator music as someone who despises the organ, for example—fewer than 200 individuals of the world's total population would enjoy this piece. Maureen's Chair

I'm putting a photo of my "Vanity Chair" from the "Chairy Festival" at Paseo a few weeks ago. No one sold a thing but we had a great time. Claudia's chair was covered in hotdog squeeze toys and when she sat down on it it sounded like little beings screaming. When she got up it made the same noise, and she went through this ritual about every 15 minutes and got lots of laughs. We had the best spread of food and wine which added to the fun. Becky and I had our garage sale this last weekend and there are still price stickers on the driveway. We figured we got rid of half of our stuff and I made $81.00. The best part was Becky and I got to visit all day.
The first post- by Mairead

So this is the first post for the Harvey Family blog.
Our idea came about when mom (Maureen) and I were talking about a chair that she had painted for a church auction. She had been working on it for quite a while, and she said "I wish I could show it to everyone, it's really cool." Immediately I suggest that we all start a blog to share photos, thoughts and stories among our family and with friends. Thus the Harvey Family blog began its infancy stage.
I am slowly learning Dream Weaver in between my classes right now so bit by bit this page will evolve into something unique and functional, hopefully.
So whether you're family or friends- please enjoy, add photos, comment and contribute!

PS: Above is a photo from the 2007 New York State Fair. It is a sculpture of a farm scene made completely out of butter- its enclosed in a refrigerated vault.
