The first post- by Mairead

So this is the first post for the Harvey Family blog.

Our idea came about when mom (Maureen) and I were talking about a chair that she had painted for a church auction. She had been working on it for quite a while, and she said "I wish I could show it to everyone, it's really cool." Immediately I suggest that we all start a blog to share photos, thoughts and stories among our family and with friends. Thus the Harvey Family blog began its infancy stage.

I am slowly learning Dream Weaver in between my classes right now so bit by bit this page will evolve into something unique and functional, hopefully.

So whether you're family or friends- please enjoy, add photos, comment and contribute!

PS: Above is a photo from the 2007 New York State Fair. It is a sculpture of a farm scene made completely out of butter- its enclosed in a refrigerated vault.

I bet butter is an interesting medium to work with... if you ship it do you pack it with popcorn (boo hiss).
Getting excited about your graduation, wish I could be there but I know Mom is really looking forward to it. Who knows, maybe Florida in October? Too much for me to think about before then...

I am looking forward to my trip to London. Maybe a side trip to Paris - will try to avoid the experience Josh had!

I took off early from work today and will hopefully set off to see the Redhawks in an hour or so. What is more Americana than leaving work to attend a baseball game? Scot
